The clearstory and the vaulted ceiling remind me very much of the college church. Even the ribs and the rosettes in the vaults are painted the same color.
The wall from the time of Rome's occupation must have been awesome! I am overwhelmed at the thought of this standing for over 1500 years, so far from the heart of the Roman empire.
The cathedral in Lincoln is breathtaking! Looking at the gothic spires above the maze of rooftops and chimneys makes me long to walk the narrow, twisted streets that you show in the last picture.
